In 2010, Corey Parsons (Vocals/guitars) and Stephen Pierce (vocals/ banjo) asked their fellow Birmingham, Alabama punk rock friends to join them for a one-time gig at their favorite bar.  Randy Wade (drums), Jeffrey Salter (guitars), and Mary Beth Richardson (vocals) answered the call.  Fast forward four years and over 600 shows, Banditos were in Austin, Texas for the 2014 SXSW Music Festival.  Playing a gig at some hole in the wall bar, and with fashion verging on ‘Young Einstein’ (1998) actor Yahoo Serious (if he attempted southern country hipster); Banditos brought alternative honkytonk  music to the not so ‘Still Sober (After All These Beers)’ patrons, which happened to include a rep from Bloodshot Records.

May 12th, 2015 Banditos make their debut with the self-titled album from Bloodshot Records. ‘Banditos’ was recorded and mixed by the hands of  Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Hurray For the Riff Raff, Benjamin Booker) at ‘The Bomb Shelter’ in Nashville, Tennessee and current residence for the six Banditos members.

Close your eyes and try to imagine what the musical outcome would be if: Janis Joplin and had a love child with Chuck Berry who was later adopted by Charlie Daniels and ZZ Top and then raised by Bo Diddley and Dash Rip Rock. “Banditos’ would be that musical outcome. Their taste for genre nostalgia, mixed with their secret ingredient to folk rock, ‘Banditos,’ is 12 songs composed into a genre of one. The album opens with the guys and gal just shootin’ ‘The Breeze,’ with a country rock, swingin’ good time. Even us non dancers, if nothing else will get your foot tapping. The album oozes with raw, gritty and even a little dirty talents of what true musicians sound like. In support of the record, Banditos embark on a U.S. tour from April until the end of May. This is a show not one to be missed.
