Judas Priest at the Palms

Since I was only allowed to shoot the first three songs (standard photo pass rule), what I witnessed was brief but still amazing. As the curtain fell at the Pearl Theatre at Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Sept. 1, you could see the drummer take his seat and preparing to play. The lights then began to radiate as K.K., Ian and Glen rushed the stage from both sides while playing the intro.  Looking up high at the band’s stage display, I saw a figure wearing a gleaming, metallic robe holding a cane displaying the Judas Priest emblem. It was none other than Rob Halford, incognito, making a grand entrance.

The stage was set in typical Priest fashion with a variety of props displaying visuals of Nostradamus. Halfway through the first song, Rob discarded the robe and took center stage to give his deep, gnarly tone, which is the significant sound of Priest. A sound that is indeed very difficult to duplicate.

The concert continued on and pleased the fans. 'Nuff said.
